Artist Awareness Post

This quarter, my artist awareness post is about Emily Dickey Art.

Her art is of animals, especially wildlife, which has also been a major part of my artwork, too. I love her use of bright colors, which are something I would like to bring into my artwork more. She turns her art into screen prints, designed to be home decor pieces, and sells them on her website. She sells both the originals and the screen prints, and also does custom commissions. She uses multi-colored dots/shapes on top of her brightly pigmented animals, something that makes her work unique, and adds shading and texture. I really like how whimsical her art is; whimsy is something I really enjoy bringing into my art too.

She uses heavy weight watercolor paper, and layers acrylic paint over top.

I didn't see a CV highlights list on her page, but she does sell custom commissions.
