I have been reading the Desktop Stables blog for years. I really admire how the author, Nichelle Jones, pays attention to tiny details that might go unnoticed. She works in 1/9th, 1/12th, and 1/24th scale, and creates model horse equipment and props. She is a seamstress, and uses her sewing skills to help her create tack for model horses.

Notice, how in the binder to the left, she uses a miniature scale patterned paper, tiny binder rings, tiny clear binder sheets to hold the paper, tiny printouts and even tiny tickets. She created this from scratch, with her own pattern, which she posted on her blog. This horse show registration binder is absolutley stunning in every way.

For this piece, she is making a tiny trophy. she hand sculpted a 1/24th scale horse head from epoxy sculpt. The facial details and texture of the mane are really well done.

The details! the desk is 1/12th scale. the cushon on the chair, and tipped books are so amazing. Can we all please admire the pencils in the pencil cup, too?

BFFR. The icing is so good, and the drips coming off the roof are amazing. I think the candy was probably clay, and the frosting paint mixed with a little glue, but that is just a guess. I love how meticulous she is with her creations, but also leaves aspects of realism through imperfections, like the globby icing.

I absolutley Idolize Nichelle, because no mere mortal could stitch the trim of the saddle on the left that well.

For scale, the saddle on the left is about this big:

Did I mention that she creates tutorials and helps other modelers? she taught me just about everything I know about model horses and miniatures.

She shares her patterns, measurements, resources and notes on her blog. Although she does sell things she makes, she does not gatekeep about how to make your own.

(Gollum voice) "My Details..."

Ok, but seriously, the stitched reins are beyond amazing. the base for the reins is leather, and the stitching is thread.

Nichelle is the GOAT and is an amazign artist. Her attention to detail is something I want to capture in my own artwork one day. She is very talented and skilled at what she does, and encourages others to do the same. You can read her blog at https://desktopstables.wordpress.com

Here are some more of her creations:
