Im loving this project. I love making tiny

things, and my favorite part of miniature work is weathering things and adding little details.

the base for this project was a young deer skull. I prepped it by soakink it in dish soap and bleach for a few hours. after that I used UV resin to secure some of the weaker parts, like the seams, and secure the teeth. after that I used pliers to remove as much of the internal cartilage of the nose as I could.

One of my goals for this project is to be intentional with the colors I use, and the colors im focusing on are basic ivory bone color, mossy-green, and copper/gold. I used watered down acrylic paint to wash and weather the scull, adding shading. I think I could ahve done a better job mixing colors, but mixing colors is a big challenge for me, and im glad I practiced mixing my colors instead of takign them from the bottle.

I started on the fairy-house decorations, the first piece being a string of mini copper bells on thin gold wire, strung from the holes above the eyes in the skull. I also cut and started staining the popsicle sticks to be the stairs/ladder. I think that the moss is really going to bring this whole piece together, and im excited to bring it into this project since i love using dried moss to add details to miniatures.
